If you entertain fantasies about being a filmmaker and having your work adored by millions as you make your way through the glamorous film festival circuit, “Official Rejection” is here to give you a cold, hard reality check.
In his documentary “Official Rejection,” filmmaker Paul Osborne chronicles his journey through various film festivals with his independent movie, “Ten ’til Noon.” As he details his own experiences, he also interviews various other filmmakers — some familiar (like Kevin Smith and Bryan Singer), others less so — to hear their experiences and insights on what it takes to get a movie distributed.
Having already played at several festivals, “Official Rejection” has become a must-see for any aspiring filmmakers who think that once the movie is made, the hard part is over.
In this clip, Jenna Fischer talks about her 2004 independent film, “LolliLove,” which she co-wrote, directed and starred in before she made a name for herself in the TV series, “The Office.”
“Official Rejection” has been making the rounds in the film festival circuit throughout 2009, and is slated for DVD release Nov. 17.
