Rumor had it that Neil Patrick Harris would be hosting the next Academy Awards ceremony now that Hugh Jackman had elected not to return (and NPH is a great choice to host anything), but the gig for the March 7 ceremony has gone to Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin, Variety states.
Martin has previously hosted the awards ceremony and both actors have plenty of experience as the hosts of “Saturday Night Live.” In addition, Martin has guest starred on “30 Rock,” the television show on which Alec Baldwin currently stars.
The 82nd annual Academy Awards ceremony will air live on ABC.
But first, the pair are slated to co-star in the movie “It’s Complicated” this Christmas (along with Meryl Streep).

I was digging the NPH idea, but these are very good choices.
hmm should be fun
I guess if I can’t have NPH (which I really, really wanted), this is a decent compromise.
I think that sounds great, I’m excited to see what they’ll do together. Will undoubtedly be funny.
Awesome!
Nice story! Great info!
I agree that NPH would have been a fantastic choice, but I think Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will be great. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do together.
Nice choice, I think.
