The Avengers Will Go to Comic-Con

— by ANDY BEHBAKHT —

Two weeks ago, it was reported that Marvel Studios wasn’t going to have a panel for one of its biggest movies next year: “The Avengers.” Of course, that was a disappointment for many fans out there — but it looks like those plans have changed.

First Showing is reporting Marvel will have The Avengers assemble once again this year at Comic-Con in way or another.

Although there isn’t confirmation which of the cast will be there, I think it’s safe to assume most of them will be — this is, after all, the biggest event of the year to meet their fans and as well promoting the movie.

First Showing has also listed what fans might get to see:

Since “Captain America: The First Avenger” is being released that same week, there is the possibility that an “Avengers” teaser will be shown during the time they are there or, possibly, during the screening of the Captain America movie.
It was mentioned by First Showing that S.H.I.E.L.D. (which does Marvel’s viral marketing in the real world), is going “all out” this year – there is even a chance the Helicarrier will be shown at the Marvel booth and it looks like there might be more things to see from the movie.

So, with The Avengers looking likely to show up after all (no confirmation yet from Disney/Marvel), could there be a possibility that Warner Bros is keeping some secrets as well? We’ll find out in a few weeks.

“The Avengers” will assemble in theaters on May 4, 2012.

If First Showing is breaking the news, take it with a grain of salt.
