This summer, one film surprised film goers more than any other. “District 9,” is the directorial debut of director Neil Blomkamp, but it garnered attention because of the name that was attached to all of the movie’s trailers and posters, and this name was Peter Jackson, the producer of this surprise hit.
The film is both exciting and also heart-wrenching. “District 9” shows an immense amount of talent from all parties involved, and it is sure to be a a science-fiction classic for years to come.
Of course, with all blockbuster hits, DVD releases often feature interesting goodies, and in this following featurette, we are shown how “District 9” got its start. It was supposed to be an adaption of the video-game powerhouse “Halo,” but instead, ideas were scrapped and what we got was something much better.
“District 9” comes out on DVD on Dec. 22. Just in time for the holidays!
