Trailer Talk: ‘Back to the Future’ Trilogy on Blu-Ray

— by JOSUE SANCHEZ —

If you get that feeling some “serious $#!+” is going to happen if your car’s odometer makes it to 88 miles per hour, you are probably a “Back to the Future” fan.

And if you are ever there lying in your bed, curled up in your sheets, daydreaming how awesome it would be to have a “Pitbull Hoverboard,” then you are probably a “Back to the Future” movie fan.

Why is this you say? Well, it is because this is what “Back to the Future” did so well back then, as it still does today: it inspires you. It carves itself into your mind, forever.

Few movies have inspired me the way “Back to the Future” did, and I know that I’m not alone.

It’s time travel concepts were subject to talking and daydreaming and even crazy hopefulness. Yeah, I was the kid that dreamed of building his own time-machine. I had pretty cool schematics drawn already and in my mind, I always thought all I was missing was the funding to make it happen.

Well, I’m also thinking maybe there is someone reading this who has never watched the movie. If this is the case, then I will just tell you BTTF (what the hardcore fans call “Back to the Future”) is a must. It’s fun, imaginative, well thought out and is still unmatched until date. Many movies have tried to play with time travel, but I always find huge flaws. Or they simply dismiss it as campy fiction. No, time travel had limitations and consequences. I love BTTF for this.

The good news is if you haven’t seen it, it’s about to be released on blu-ray. This means you will be able to see it in the best quality and format that has ever been available to date.

Let me just say that I was there to purchase my copy when it was first released on VHS. I will also confess I wore out that copy and another two. Since I watched BTTF a couple hundred times before I lost count. Yeah, now you know.

Later it was released on Laserdisc. And I won’t lie; I solely bought a Laserdisc player for “Back to the Future” and “Star Wars.” Wow, it looked amazing! I remember being blown away. But guess what happened? DVDs came to be.

For DVD the movies were remastered and special editions were released, oh and it had freaking deleted scenes. Something new from the BTTF universe was very, very welcomed. So, I bought it again. The special features, bloopers, music video, and new footage were priceless to me and many other fans.

So now we are reading the news they are releasing it again on Blu-ray, and we even have a trailer (embedded below) for its release. This special remastered version is to celebrate its 25th Anniversary. This is your chance to travel back to the originals and join millions of dedicated fans in celebrating the wonder that is “Back to the Future.”

This 25th Anniversary edition will be released Oct. 26.

Man! Another format of BTTF I’ll add to my collection! One of my favorite series of all time! The intricacy of the 3 stories has yet to be matched! BRILLIANT films. Don’t anyone rag on the III one anymore either! The old west town was woven perfectly into the story. Clayton Ravine? Come on!!
