Trailer Talk: ‘Necromentia’

— by ROBERT DeFEIS —

“Necromentia” is inspired by the works of Clive Barker and Jean-Pierre Jeunet and from the trailer, you can see why, as there are a lot of sick and twisted scenes.

Pearry Teo directed this wild horror ride about three men who have intertwining stories: Morbius, Travis and Hagan (played by Layton Matthews, Chad Grimes and Santiago Craig). They find a map to the gates of Hell, which is a tattooed Ouija Board that opens the gateway to the other dimension.

Hagan keeps his dead loved one in his home and when he meets Travis, he learns that he might be able to travel into hell and bring her back.

There is a tagline for this movie that states “Hell awaits the foolish.” I can’t wait to see how foolish they really are. Within the trailer are many disgusting scenes that aren’t for the faint of heart, but if you enjoy some good old-fashioned gore and abnormal creatures this will be one to catch.

“Necromentia” has a TBA release date sometime in 2009, but was screened at the Screamfest Horror Film Festival on Oct. 18.
