The release of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1” is mere days away, and more and more clips from the film are beginning to crop up online. These five indicate “Deathly Hallows” will be a much different film than what most Potter fans are used to.
In Part 1, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe), Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermione (Emma Watson) opt not to return for their final year at Hogwarts to go on the hunt for the remaining horcruxes, dark objects that contain pieces of Voldemort’s (Ralph Fiennes) soul. The trio must destroy the horcruxes before Voldemort can be killed, and tensions run high as they struggle to figure out exactly how to do that.
At least the first half of “Deathly Hallows” is much more of a character-driven story than an action-driven story. Part 2’s Battle of Hogwarts is surely to be the franchise’s most epic action sequence, but I’m looking forward to the attention Part 1 pays to the trio’s relationship and the sacrifices they are willing to make for each other. “Deathly Hallows” is an intricate finale, and if these clips are any indication, Part 1 is going to be a spectacular beginning to the beloved series’ end.
“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1” hits theaters Friday.
