“Daybreakers” is another film to jump on the vampire bandwagon and after the “Twilight” film success, my bet is on many more to come. Hopefully, no one will be stupid enough to try another “Transylmania,” which I think was officially the worst movie of all time.
This film is a little different. It’s the year 2019 and as a plague hits, it transforms the world population into vampires and the remaining humans have to hide and fear for their lives. Now here is the exciting new part: as the vampires barely have blood left, they start to farm the remaining humans for their blood. I mean, can you imagine being hung up somewhere as shown in the poster for this film and have your blood being drained every week or so. That would just be horrible, but there is hope as there is a secret team of vampires that hope to uncover a way that would rescue the human race.
This clip starts off at the coffee shop/blood bank, where they mix some blood into the vampire’s coffee. The guy waiting next in line is not very happy, as he wants more blood in there and the girl giving it is not having any of that, but it gets out of hand anyway.
The only thing I really hate about it was the screeching. I mean, come on, if vampires were real do you think they would go around screeching when they didn’t get what they want? I don’t think so.
“Daybreakers” has some pretty solid actors, with Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill. So, it should be quite a good movie if you like the vampire genre. It is set to hit theaters Jan. 8, 2010.
