Isla Fisher Lands Two New Comedies

— by KATHLEEN COLLINS —

After winning turns in “Wedding Crashers” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic,” Isla Fisher has proven to be an actress on the rise. And Univeral Pictures wants to be there as her rise continues.

Variety is reporting that Fisher has signed on the line to appear in a pair or romantic comedies for the studio.

Fisher, is attached to topline and produce “Life Coach,” a comedy about a young woman who consults a life coach who turns out to be messed up. Liz Cackowski and Maggie Carey are writing the script.

Fisher is also attached to star in an untitled romantic comedy based on a French script called “Un Jour mes princes viendront” (One Day My Princes Will Come). The studio wouldn’t disclose the logline but has hired Audrey Wells (”Under the Tuscan Sun”) to write the script.

That picture is, like Sean says, beautiful. She was probably the best thing about “Definitely, Maybe” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic” but that’s not saying much.
