The more I watch or read about “The Expendables,” the more excited I get. The action-packed movie — starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Jet Li, along with a long list of action greats — is setting itself up to become one of my all time favorite action movies. How can I say this before watching the movie?
Well, If you watch the two trailers already released for the movie, you will find that this is a no-holds-barred, testosterone injected, action movie. But when you take a look at the cast, you can’t help but to want and expect it. I don’t think it could be any other way.
But now, check out the exciting clip we have embedded below. The clip drops us right in middle of an ongoing raid on some boat-warehouse full of armed men by “The Expendables” team. It is less than minute long, but it will definitely give you a big hint about what to expect from this movie; good old fashion action!
There is so much I love about the clip, I don’t even know where to start.
First, I love that my two favorite characters are friends, but they are apparently always bickering. This is a team movie, but it can also indirectly be a buddy flick.
Second, I love that Stallone looks as fit as always, maybe it’s just me, but he looks much younger than he did in “Rambo.”
Third, I love that each character specializes in a different weapon, guns and knives in this case, and they are a going at it amongst themselves about which weapon is more efficient. Yep, you will get all this from the clip.
I am looking forward to the relationship between these characters, especially Stallone and Statham. This could be like the passing of the torch from the old generation of action to the new generation, but at the same time, but at the same time, Stallone can show that the old generation can still kick butt.
I definitely hope after you watch the clip you can leave your opinion of the movie in the comment section to the right. Are you as excited as I am? Or will this be a pass for you? Either way, “The Expendables” will hit theaters on Aug. 13.
