If you are into the Disney fairy-tale classics like “Cinderella,” “Sleeping Beauty” and “Snow White,” then you are in for a treat. Disney is finally tackling the story of Rapunzel with its new animated movie titled “Tangled.”
Frankly, I am surprised they had not visited this tale already, especially since it has all the fundamental traits and elements that Disney loves in their movies: magic, swash-buckling-action-adventure, love story.
With “Tangled,” we have the story of Rapunzel (voiced by Mandy Moore), a beautiful golden-haired princess who has been confined to a towering lair for 18 years, and dreams of adventure … until, Flynn Ryder (voiced by Zachary Levi), a wanted thief and a charming prince — don’t know how he can be both — meets Rapunzel when he seeks safe haven in her tower. Flynn escapes his persuers, but soon discovers that Rapunzel’s hair might be his greatest challenge yet.
This last week has been very exciting for anyone who has anxiously awaited news on this Disney project. First, they released the title logo. It’s design was simple, yet very Disney-ish, in color, style and font. Then, a few days later, the teaser trailer was leaked and we have included it below.
The teaser does not reveal a lot, but it does give us a few sound bites of Mandy and Zachary reading some of their lines from the movie. I am sure these two will be able to draw in some good crowds.
Also, watch the “Tangled” Work-in-Pogress video included below. It’s a great inside look at the video story boards used for the making of the film.
This is going to be one to look out for, because if it’s anything like its predecessors, it could be an instant classic.
“Tangled” will be released on Nov. 24. Joining Moore and Levi will be David Schwimmer, Carolyn Lawrence, Pam Hyatt, Grey DeLisle and Matthew Gray Gubler.
