A Music Video from ‘127 Hours’

— by SEAN GERSKI —

“127 Hours” is a movie that I just can’t bring myself to see. I admit it. I hear great things, but in the end, I just don’t want to — and honestly can’t — watch a man cut his own arm off with a pocket knife.

However, I can easily watch a music video from the movie.

Here is the description from Trailer Addict for “If I Rise”: “A.R. Rahman’s score for Danny Boyle’s ‘127 Hours’ is one that utterly transcends expectations. A fluid mix of many genres, the soundtrack album combines Rahman’s music with pieces by Free Blood, Bill Withers, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Esther Phillips, and Sigur Ros. A.R. Rahman captures the emotional intensity and pace of this film in the sounds he creates.

For those who saw “127 Hours” and enjoyed it, let me know in the comments section. I will have to enjoy it vicariously through you.

How funny. I just had my friend watch it with me yesterday, totally not her type of movie, but she liked it!
