Brad Pitt to Star in ‘Cogan’s Trade’

— by SHERICE ANTOINETTE —

Pre-production began today for Brad Pitt’s latest flick “Cogan’s Trade.” Based on the 1974 crime novel by George V Higgins, the story revolves around mob enforcer Jackie Cogan. Other actors mentioned for this project are Javier Bardem, Mark Ruffalo, Josh Brolin, Sam Rockwell, Casey Affleck and Zoe Saldana. That is quite the padded cast. Bardem and Pitt? What an amazing pairing that would be. I certainly hope it happens.

Even though the narrative is set in Boston, filming will commence in March in Pitt’s beloved New Orleans, where “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” was shot. There, the Academy Award-nominated actor will reunite with “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” director Andrew Dominik.

In “Jesse James” — a fantastic film that didn’t receive enough accolades — Pitt and Affleck gave stellar performances. Roger Deakins’s cinematography was breathtaking and the soundtrack, scored by Robert Ford, lingers still. I believe that under Dominik’s care, “Cogan’s Trade” will be another solid film

As of now, there is no concrete release date for “Cogan’s Trade” but it’s safe to venture it will hit theaters fall of next year.
