New Footage from The Dark Knight Rises Coming

— by ANDY BEHBAKHT —

Shooting of the final Batman movie is wrapping up and with eight to nine months remaining until the premiere, we will start seeing more promotion and video as the months goes by and it looks like December will be a wonderful month for the Bat-fans out there.

First of all, a six-minute prologue for “The Dark Knight Rises” will be released on 70mm IMAX Screens on Dec. 16. While that’s a good thing for many, it’s a bad thing for countries that don’t have IMAX theaters (like Sweden), so I’m hoping that the footage will be released eventually on the web in high quality and not bootlegged.

But there is more coming up in December. Those of you going to see “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows” will be happy to know that there is apparently going to be an second trailer for “The Dark Knight Rises” released before the movie, which is also on Dec. 16th.

Isn’t that interesting? Both a prologue and a second trailer will come out on the same day — which is basically one of the best Christmas presents a Bat-fan could get.

Warner Bros. hasn’t confirmed anything yet, but last time there was a rumor that a trailer would be released during “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” it turned out to be true in the end.

“The Dark Knight Rises” hits theaters on July 20, 2012.
