Quick question: What is the first thing you notice about the poster below?
Do you think that’s an accident?
Jennifer Lopez, who hasn’t been in a movie since 2006, is back and she’s in a romantic comedy about a woman who gets artificially inseminated right before meeting Mr. Right. If this plot sounds familiar, that might be because Jennifer Aniston has a very similar sounding movie due this year (which formerly carried the unfortunate-sounding title “The Baster,” but is due for a name change).
So this year, we can look forward to two movies about women who get artificially-inseminated. And both movies star women named Jennifer who are better known for their work outside of movies (TV for Aniston, music for Lopex) and who are well-publicized in the tabloids for their romances. Oh, and both ladies are famous for having world-class posteriors.
And it is that last point that those who made the poster for “The Back-Up Plan” chose to emphasize. Which I guess is as good a tact as any.
“The Back-Up Plan,” which gets delivered to theaters April 16, also stars Alex O’Loughlin. He is the one in the poster who is gazing admiringly at Lopez while looking somewhat like a scruffy version of Jerry Seinfeld.

I won’t lie. She looks great in the poster. But I don’t want to see the movie.
She’s a great looking girl, but she isn’t the warmest of personalities.
“The Baster”??? Hahahaha. I’m not falling for it Gerski, you can’t be serious.
And this movie looks… well… never mind.
Oh, sadly it’s true: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0889573/. There is no truth, however, to the rumor that it was previously called “The Basterd” (Quentin Tarantino style). At least, I don’t think there is.
