“The Greatest” is only Shana Feste’s second writing job and first in the director’s chair.
Her new project is centered around a couple dealing with the loss of their son, which causes a lot of there overlooked faults much more noticeable. This drama deals with some interesting takes on dealing with loss as well as the potential for some very powerful performances.
The notoriety this script has gained is something for which Feste should really be proud. For a relative unknown, it led to a production involving some very recognizable faces, making the movie much more noticeable to audiences.
In addition it’s been praised within indie circles enough to be selected for the Dramatic Competition at Sundance. Feste’s directorial debut should be interesting, especially in such a difficult genre.
This clip shows a private conversation between the two grieving parents, played by Pierce Brosnan and Susan Sarandon, discussing a pretty big plot development in the feature.

I really wish Brosnan would get some higher profile gigs. How can people not love that man???
Brosnan is awesome!
Classy actors. I hope it’s a good movie.
These are two wonderful actors so I too am hopeful that it’s gonna be a great movie,
not overly sentimental and maudlin.
