“It’s a Wonderful Afterlife” takes the genre of Indian/British/American comedy and makes it work well. The trailer has some great scenes, which are pretty humorous. The film is centered on an Indian mother who takes her obsession with marriage into the world of serial murder.
Called a mixture of “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” meets “Shaun of the Dead,” “It’s A Wonderful Afterlife” will be produced and directed by the BAFTA and Golden Globe-nominated Chadha, who wrote the screenplay with her longstanding writing partner and husband, Paul Mayeda Berges.
The international cast includes Shabana Azmi, Sally Hawkins, Sendhil Ramamurthy, Zoë Wanamaker, Jimi Mistry, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Mark Addy, Ray Panthaki, Goldy Notay, Shaheen Khan, Ash Varrez and Adlyn Ross.
The film has a release date of April 2, 2010.
