Trailer Talk: ‘Country Strong’

— by ADAM POYNTER —

Gwyneth Paltrow has been on a marketing tour recently for her upcoming movie “Country Strong.” The trek included a stint on this year’s Country Music Awards, where she closed the ceremony by performing the title song.

In “Country Strong,” Beau Hutton (Garrett Hedlund, star of “Tron: Legacy”) is a talented singer and songwriter who is teamed up with a fallen and out-of-control ex-country music star Kelly Canter (Gwyneth Paltrow).

The two of them team collaborate and go on tour to get him in the spotlight for the first time and to try to bring back her success.

The person trying to resurrect Canter’s career is her husband and manager Ed (Tim McGraw). Things don’t go as planned as Canter falls off the wagon, gets involved romantically with Hutton and start to fall apart. This movie is the story of Carter’s rise back to fame..

“Country Strong — which also stars Leighton Meester and Marshall Chapman — opens in theaters Jan. 7, 2011.

Yeah, I had a few friends that got to screen this movie already, none of which are country music fans and they all loved it! Said that it was the most unique role for Gwyneth and that she stepped outside of herself for this role and pulled it off! I cant wait to see it too.
