I remember working for a software company in 2001; I was handling tech support, which gave access to a T-1 internet connection line. This was better than anything I had at home. I would surf the web during my entire shift. I was all caught up on all things movies. Ah, those were simpler days. I also remember clearly that sometime early that year, say January or February, I saw the trailer for planned the summer release “The Fast and the Furious.”
The whole gang gathered around my monitor screen to watch the cool cars, and the wild stunts that unique trailer exhibited. It was action packed and we all waited for the movie to be released.
It was a hit, a huge hit, with four sequels under its belt now. That is pretty impressive, and when I was sitting there nine years ago watching that trailer for the first one at my cubicle, I never imagined it would go this far.
The trailer below is for the fourth sequel called “Fast Five.” It brings back the whole original cast together again — minus Michele Rodriguez, who died in the last film — including Paul Walker, Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris. Is that all? They already brought the whole gang back together in the previous installment “Fast and Furious,” the fourth in the franchise. And now they have a new character to tickle our fancies.
For this fifth installment, they are adding the recently-returning-to-action-movies Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Personally, I thing this is great news. Dwayne Johnson is back, he’s invigorated and pumped up for these new projects. If you haven’t seen “Faster,” I highly recommend it. And if the way he acted in “Faster” any sign of what to expect in this new sequel “Fast Five,” then we are in for a treat. But the original “Fast/Furious” team will have their hands full, because according to this trailer, Johnson’s character, Federal Agent Luke Hobbs, is tracking them down. There are in his sights and he never misses his targets.
Check out the official plot description released by Universal Pictures: Former cop Brian O’Conner partners with ex-con Dom Toretto on the opposite side of the law. Since Brian and Mia Toretto broke Dom out of custody, they’ve blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. But he’s not the only one on their tail. Hard-nosed federal agent Luke Hobbs never misses his target. When he is assigned to track down Dom and Brian, he and his strike team launch an all-out assault to capture them. But as his men tear through Brazil, Hobbs learns he can’t separate the good guys from the bad. Now, he must rely on his instincts to corner his prey… before someone else runs them down first.
What do you think? Will The Rock face off against The Diesel? Shoot us some comments after you watch the super-cool and action packed and stunt filled trailer. Oh, and I forgot to mention … this is just a teaser. I can’t wait for the full-blown trailer.
“Fast Five” will hits the big screens April 29, 2011.

I absolutely love the fast and furious series and that’s all of them not just the ones with Vin Diesel. This one though looks outstanding. I really can’t wait to see it.
Vin and Dwayne will indeed fight each other. Ludacris tweeted so.
