What if you had one week to do whatever — and whoever — you want? No questions asked, no consequences. That’s the question at the center of “Hall Pass,” the latest comedy from the Farrelly brothers.
Rick (Owen Wilson) and Fred (Jason Sudeikis) are best friends who have both been married for years. After spending so much time in domestic bliss, they can’t help but have a slightly wandering eye when they see a hot girl. Sensing Rick and Fred are starting to get restless, their wives (Jenna Fischer and Christina Applegate) grant them a “Hall Pass,” one week off from marriage to do whatever they want. But will one week of freedom be everything they dreamed it would be?
Of course not. “Hall Pass” looks fairly predictable, but the Farrelly brothers proved they can do raunch comedy well with “There’s Something About Mary.” With a hilarious cast that also includes Richard Jenkins, Alyssa Milano, Stephen Merchant and J.B. Smoove, “Hall Pass” is probably worth checking out if only for the comic talent the Farrelly brothers landed.
