Paramount Pictures just released the new “Super 8” trailer this morning via Twitter and I must admit to becoming a bit emotional while viewing it.
I adore “E.T”. I’ve seen the film dozens of times and every time I watch it, I feel like a kid again. Elliot was one of my first childhood crushes and I identified with Gertie. This “Super 8” ad takes me back to when I was 9. I love everything about it. The mystery, the music, the actors, the whole entire thing is, for lack of a less cliché word, magical.
On another note, it’s great to see Kyle Chandler in this! I’ve loved him since “Early Edition” and of course he did terrific work in “Friday Night Lights.”
“Super 8” — directed by J.J. Abrams and produced by the legendary Steven Spielberg — opens June 10. This is more than worthy of a midnight viewing.
