Musicians seem to have the most passionate love lives: Sid and Nancy, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Is it the music that builds the passion or is the music a by product of the passion? Of course, when these couples fall, they fall hard.
Teri Lee Geary (aka Kitten DeVille) and her husband Shawn Geary are following that path in the documentary “The DeVilles” — which is “based on a true love story.”
Kitten DeVille is a burlesque stripper and Shawn is a punk rocker. They have been in a relationship for 25 years, but now it looks like their relationship can’t go on the way it is. The trailer below gives us a little back story into how the couple met and how they feel about the relationship. It also shows us the heartbreak the couple is facing, because of their love for each other and how it affects their family.
As a documentary, “The DeVilles” looks good, at least production-value wise. The trailer isn’t giving up a lot of goods, but it looks like Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart” is probably part of the soundtrack.
Hopefully, the DeVilles have a happier ending than the other musician couples I mentioned.
