Trailer Talk: ‘The Wolfman’

— by VANNA LAND —

Benicio Del Toro has been cast in the title role of this update of the classic 1941 horror movie of the same name set in 1880s Victorian-era Great Britain.

Del Toro plays an American, Lawrence Talbot, who returns to his ancestral home to search for his brother who has disappeared. He also is there to reconcile with his long-estranged father, played by Anthony Hopkins.

The story turns dark as Richard is attacked by a werewolf and is himself cursed in this familiar story.

Joining Del Toro and Hopkins are Emily Blunt as the missing brother’s fiancée and Hugo Weaving as Detective Aberline.

Directed by Joe Johnston, who helmed “Jurassic Park III,” “The Wolfman” is a blend of CGI and practical effects — with the practical effects provided by Rick Baker, perhaps best known for his work on “An American Werewolf in London.”

Look for “The Wolfman” to take a bite out of the box office in February 2010.

it Looks very intersting. I wasn’t an huge fan of the classic Wolfman movie starring Lon Chaney, but this one looks promising
