Two Possible Choices for ‘Wonder Woman’ Emerge

— by JOSUE SANCHEZ —

Since I heard about the prospect of a “Wonder Woman” TV show, I, like many others, have been fascinated with the possibilities. It has been many, many years since we last saw a live-action interpretation of the popular and deeply-loved comic book character. Those were the days when Linda Carter graced our small screens with her majestic beauty and baby blue eyes. Then, a few months ago, it was leaked that David E. Kelley (“Ally McBeal” and “Boston Legal”) is writing and producing a remake of the heroine for TV. The fans, including me, were ecstatic.

Of course, the next biggest question was: Who will be filling the shoes of the Amazonian princess? Well, the rumors are swinging at us rapidly. What’s Playing is reporting that they know two of candidates in the running to play Wonder Woman. The first name — and listed as the favorite by the site — is Tanit Phoenix (at right).

We will next see Tanit in the movies “Lost Boys: The Thirst” and “Death Race: Frankenstein Lives,” and she will also be the lead actress in the cable series titled “Femme Fatales.” Tanit started out as a model and definitely seems to look the part to me. She is 5-foot-9, brunette, very curvaceous and definitely very beautiful. If she is cast, she will be playing Wonder Woman for the David E. Kelley treatment that will start out with a made-for-TV movie.

Personally, I had other actresses in mind for the role, like Megan Gale. Megan Gale had already once been cast for the role of Wonder Woman for the “Justice League” movie that never happened a few years back. I really thought she was a great choice and thought they would at least consider her for the part. But Tanit Phoenix has been a great curve ball to me.

Another actress they claim is a contender is Eliza Dushku, who by all means is much better known. Although I admit Eliza (below) is beautiful, I don’t feel she is right for the role. She doesn’t seem to be curvy enough or tall enough for the part in my opinion.

So, there you have it. This news raises all kinds of questions. Will they stop at the movie, or continue on to the TV show as planned? Will she be sporting the new suit Wonder Woman is wearing in the comics, or will it be the classic boots and red-white and blue bathing suit look? Time will tell, but I will definitely be following this projecting closely. What do you think?

Megan Gale is perfect! Like you, I’m not feeling Eliza at all. She is too petite I think. But Tanit isn’t a terrible choice.

Hear about tanit, don’t know her work but she does have the height/look down right. As for eliza I like her but can’t really see her as ww. Who ever lands the role I hope they do well and its a good adaption to the character.

Megan Gale is a nice choice because she does look the part. I really liked Eliza Dushku to get a chance but like others said that I don’t think she’s not getting the part at the end because of her being petite. Great job, Josue. =)

Tanit Phoenix is the perfect woman to play this role! Tanit is down to earth, and very talented. I recently worked with her on FEMME FATALES, and I have never been so amused and down right bewitched by a woman before. She really is ‘star quality’ and has so much potential to harness her acting capability. AND she is such a jokester! I laughed so much. I am enamored by her presence. I really hope she gets to do this show!
