DC Comics, along with Warner Brothers, have brought some of our favorite heroes to the big screen during these past few years and it looks like that another one is closer to appearing on the big screen as well: The Flash.
According to Deadline, the writers of “Green Lantern” — Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green and Greg Berlanti — are going to hand in their latest script on “The Flash” to Warner Brothers in a couple of months.
Not only are they working on a story about the fastest man alive, they are also working on a script for the sequel to the “Green Lantern” movie that hasn’t even hit the cinemas. Personally, I think (and hope) the “Green Lantern” movie will do great numbers at the box office and from what I have seen and heard from the actors and the film-makers, it sounds like an amazing movie. The script is slated to be handed in around the same time as “The Flash” script. I’m really excited for “The Flash” finally getting on the big screen.
Deadline also is reporting that the “Green Lantern” movie is being edited by Martin Campbell (the movie’s director). Word has it we will see a teaser trailer for the film before the next “Harry Potter” movie. In the meantime, you can check out the movie’s newly-unveiled web site at http://greenlanternmovie.warnerbros.com.
With the upcoming “Green Lantern” movie coming out next summer, Wonder Woman hopefully getting its TV series, the Superman reboot, the last Batman getting started next year and now The Flash getting his shot, we might perhaps raise our hopes for a potential “Justice League” movie in a few years.
“Green Lantern” is hitting the theaters June 17, 2011, and stay tuned in following months for more news on “The Flash” and “Green Lantern 2.”
In the meanwhile, here is something to discuss: Who should take on the role as the fastest man alive? Do you like the rumored choice of Bradley Cooper?
