18th Annual SAG Awards Results Revealed

— by ADAM POYNTER —

Last night was the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards and some of the biggest names in Hollywood descended upon the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles to honor each other with awards for some of the best work in film and television over the past year. It is said to be one of the most prestigious awards for any actor to receive because the winners are chosen by their fellow actors and peers, a true honor and a hefty prize for such hard work.

Not following the same patterns and formula as the Golden Globes or Academy Awards, the results from the Screen Actors Guild Awards usually take a different direction than the voting style of the Hollywood Foreign Press or the Academy.

The big winner of the night wasn’t “The Artist,” “Hugo” or “The Descendents” but bestselling novel turned film “The Help” — which won three of the top honors of the night: Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress and Best Cast Ensemble. Now, I have seen and absolutely loved “The Help,” but do these wins and some other upsets cast a doubt on some of the other films chance for OSCAR gold?

Below is the full list of all of the winners. Did your favorite celebrity or show win tonight? Leave a comment and let us know what you thought of tonight’s results.
