Good News, Bad News For ‘Nine’ Fans

— by SEAN GERSKI —

Let’s start with the bad news: Those waiting to see Rob Marshall’s movie musical “Nine” will have to wait a little longer. The movie has moved from a Thanksgiving release (late November) to a limited release on Dec. 18, before going wide on Christmas Day (Dec. 25).

Reportedly, the move is part of a plan by The Weinstein Co. involving Oscar nominations. And since those guys know how to get movies nominated as well as anyone does, we’ll have to trust they know what they are doing (not that “Nine” necessarily needs the help — it’s practically a shoo-in for many nominations).

Now for the good news: To help tide you over, we have seven new images from “Nine” — which will star Daniel Day-Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson, Judi Dench, Sophia Loren and Marion Cotillard and be directed by Rob Marshall.

Whether it’s good or not, I’m sure that movie will be a hit with such… well-endowed women.

I wish the studios wouldn’t put all the best movies out right at the same time. That time of year is already too busy for most people.
