A Clip From ‘Don McKay’

— by ALEXA MILAN —

Thomas Haden Church plays the title role in “Don McKay,” a thriller from first-time writer and director Jake Goldberger.

Don is a high school janitor who left his hometown 25 years ago following a tragedy. But when he gets a letter from his old flame, Sonny (Elisabeth Shue), who says she is dying, he is drawn back home to be with her and buried secrets begin to resurface.

In this clip, Don walks in on Sonny in the middle of a heated phone conversation. When he asks her who she was talking to, he suspects she is hiding something from him.

“Don McKay” played at the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year and received positive reviews for its ability to make the audience laugh and keep people on the edge of their seats. The film also has a strong cast, starring Melissa Leo, M. Emmet Walsh and Keith David in addition to Church and Shue.

A release date has currently not been set.

A lot of movies like this seem to be having trouble finding ways to get released lately.
