I can’t even begin to describe how excited I am for Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland.”
It’s got some of my favorite actors (Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Stephen Fry), I’m old enough to not be scared witless — unlike when I saw the animated version — and it’s directed by Tim Burton, whose movies I grew up on. All in all I can’t wait for Friday to roll around.
In this version of “Alice In Wonderland,” Alice (Mia Wasikowska) is now an 19 year old girl who is returning to Wonderland after her father’s death. Wonderland has changed, however. It is now under the rule of the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter) and being terrorized by the Jabberwocky (voiced by Sir Christopher Lee). As she explores Wonderland, Alice comes across some familiar faces.
“Alice in Wonderland” uses a mixture of live action and animation. Along with a regular release it will also be released in IMAX 3-D.
The clips below introduce us to some of the inhabitants of Wonderland.
The first clip is Alice reuniting with the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) at a tea party.
In the second the White Queen (Anne Hathaway) is mixing a potion to restore Alice to her regular height.
The final clip shows the Red Queen questioning her frog subjects about who ate her tarts.
