During the MTV Movie Awards, the lovely Emma Watson introduced a new clip from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.” It’s a chilling scene. One that Potter fans dreaded yet at the same time, are very anxious to see.
In the clip, Voldermort casts the killing curse on Harry Potter as a bound Hagrid looks on helplessly. The sequence is the book’s climax and by choosing to show it, Warner Bros. is letting everyone know that this is indeed it, the end of a magnificent series. There is no holding back; no punches will be pulled.
In addition to the aforementioned scene, the final battle at Hogwarts will be the most tremendous and legendary sequence in the history of film. I get chills just thinking about it.
Truthfully, I’m surprised Warner Bros. chose to include poignant scenes from the film as part as their marketing campaign. Some are very spoilerish in nature and one can’t assume everyone has read the books. That said, perhaps the studio prepared these trailers in dedication to those of us who have read J.K. Rowling’s monumental series. For without us, the Harry Potter franchise may not be the financial success it is today.
On July 15, it all ends when “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2” opens in theaters.
Opinions about the powerful clip are welcome to the right.
