Clip No. 2 from Superman/Batman: Apocalypse

— by ANDY BEHBAKHT —

A few weeks ago, IJM writer Josue Sanchez posted a clip from “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” and it’s time for another one. This scene features Kara Zor-El a.k.a Supergirl (voiced by Summer Glau) and it takes place soon after the events of the clip Josue posted. To not spoil too much, I’m going to stop with what takes place in the clip.

From what I have heard and read about the introduction of Kara in this version, it sounds very interesting. When it comes to the DC animation, Supergirl hasn’t really been in any animated DC show since “Superman: The Animated Series” and “Justice League: Unlimited.”

The only appearance she has done in media (whether animated or live-action) in the past few years was in Season 7 of “Smallville,” where she was played by Laura Vandervoot (and she’s returning for that show’s 10th and final season). In other words: I think it’s great that Supergirl is being introduced in this movie and also this time in a more “mature” way if you compare it with the version in “Superman: TAS.”

“Superman/Batman: Apocalypse” will have special theatrical premieres in the West Coast starting Sept. 21 and in New York on Sept. 23. It will be available on DVD and Blu-Ray on Sept. 28.

As i sit here, writing my review for this movie, i must admit that this particular instance of the movie really impressed me. The way she discovers flight, is truly impressive, she just…floats away! Loved it. Supergirl has never looked so good. I love this movie!

Can’t wait to see this. I love the animation. I hope they do more movies in this style.
