‘Basterds’ Earn Top Award at SAG Ceremony

— by SEAN GERSKI —

While I have yet to see every movie released in 2009, I saw more than my fair share. And looking back, my feeling is that Quentin Tarantino’s “Inglourious Basterds” was the best movie released last year.

How well the movie does when Oscar time arrives is yet to be seen, but the movie is certain to pick up a shelf-full of trophies during awards season.

The “Basterds” picked up two more coveted awards last night at the annual SAG Awards, taking home the award for best cast and for supporting actor (the mesmerizing Christoph Waltz).

Betty White (at left in the picture) also had a memorable evening, receiving the Life Achievement Award from her co-star Sandra Bullock (pictured at right). Bullock took home the award for Actress in a Leading Role for her work in “The Blind Side.”

Here is the list of winners from last night in the movies category:

I agree. That was the best movie of the year. That or “(500)) Days of Summer.”
