Has Daniel Craig found his next Bond girl? According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, actress Naomie Harris may step into the role of James Bond’s latest female sidekick/potential love interest.
The news was first reported in British tabloid News of the World, and Entertainment Weekly confirmed that Harris has met with filmmakers about the part. She is probably best known for her work as Tia Dalma in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” movies.
Rumors have also been circulating that Javier Bardem and Ralph Fiennes have been approached about playing the villain in the film, but those reports haven’t been confirmed.
Nothing is known about the story of the still-untitled 23rd Bond film, which was long delayed because of MGM’s financial woes. Before the news broke that Harris is in talks for a role, the only confirmed information has been that Craig will return as Bond, Judi Dench is back as M and Sam Mendes will direct.
Bond 23 is set to hit theaters Nov. 9, 2012.
What do you think? Are you excited about the next Bond film? Is Harris a good fit for the next Bond girl? Any speculation about the under-wraps plot? Sound off in the comments section.
