Just a quick update: While Entertainment Weekly is confirming that Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set for Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight Rises,” the magazine/website is saying he is NOT playing Alberto Falcone.
EW reported today: “A source close to the situation says that recent reports that Gordon-Levitt will play Alberto Falcone (a.k.a. the Holiday Killer) — the son of former mob kingpin, Carmine Falcone (Tom Wilkinson) — are incorrect.”
The previous report that Gordon-Levitt would play Alberto Falcone came from Variety. So feel free to place your bets on who is correct. From what I have heard, however, Gordon-Levitt will play one of the good guys in the film and may even be playing a character who is set up to replace Batman when Bruce Wayne is gone (aka Robin or Nightwing or something along those lines). No matter what happens, it will be interesting to see when Nolan wraps up his trilogy.
