New Information about Wonder Woman and Her Costume

— by JOSUE SANCHEZ —

As you may have noted, It’s Just Movies has been following all sorts of news related to David E. Kelley’s upcoming NBC TV series “Wonder Woman.”

A few weeks ago, we got the opportunity to see what outfit our Amazonian princess (played by Adrianne Palicki) would sport in the show. Immediately, the net was bombarded regarding the outfit.

Some thought it was too bright; others thought it was too tight. Some complained about the actress looking too kinky or other words I won’t use. Of course, there were plenty who loved it just as it was.

So, many let out a sigh of relief when a week and a half later some actual footage of the filming of the show leaked. In this footage, we saw a slightly different suit. It wasn’t as shiny and bright. Actually it, looked perfect for running and jumping. Either way, it was an improvement and many fans basked in their pride imagining their outcry had been heard and the appropriate changes has been done accordingly.

Well, TV Line recently interviewed Robert Greenblatt, the chief of entertainment for NBC. What did he reveal? Read and be warned, it is spoilerish:

It turns out, they didn’t change anything — and they didn’t have to, because according to NBC president Robert Greenblatt, the particular outfit sported by the superheroine in the Hollywood Boulevard set photos spied last month was always in Diana Prince’s closet. In fact, in addition to that and the “shiny” look unveiled in the original publicity still, there’s a third version that has yet to leak — and it should make fans of the original series very happy.
“There was an initial outcry about the long pants – you know, skintight pants as opposed to those little shorts [worn by Lynda Carter in the original TV series],” Greenblatt concedes to TVLine.com. “But the shorts were always planned. They are actually used in the final confrontation when she beats Veronica Cale (played by Elizabeth Hurley).”
“We haven’t made any changes from what was planned,” the NBC boss reiterates. “But it’s always good to hear the feedback. I’d rather have people really passionately engaged in conversation, even if they hate something, than be kind of bored.”

So, Wonder Woman will have various outfits. I like this; after all, she is playing a wealthy CEO, she can afford it. And I am sure the short-shorts outfit will be a hit with the guys.

I think there may be multiple outfits for her to wear, but I cant see them using the first design after all the criticism it brought.

I’m so over it. NBC is worried and rightfully so.

So weird that NBC is trying so hard to court lusty fanboys when the show is so obviously aimed – content and tone-wise – at young women.

I think that when you have something that is good don’t change it. I don’t like the wonderwoman outfit for crime fighting. The old one was better.

Its still awful! whats with the plastic red top and the tacky looking gold plastic belt and headband! didnt anyone in the production team look at it and say ` hey! this all looks really naff and plastic` Shes a wealthy amazonian princess! wouldnt she be using the finest fabrics and metals!! im not sure there is a large plastic factory making porn doll outfits in the Amazon is there??. Perhaps shes more an Amazon.com girl!! this tv programme will be clown shoes and wont make it past first season !!
