It's Just Movies

Now that production on “Scre4m” is full on, and filming draws to an end, it is finally time to get some behind the scenes looks at a little town we all know and love, Woodsboro.

In this clip, we see that Gale Weathers-Riley (Courteney Cox Arquette) and Jill Kessler (Emma Roberts) are talking outside the Woodsboro Police station. We also get a glimpse of a Woodsboro Creek Vineyard van, which is interesting to me because I didn’t know there was a Woodsboro Creek, nor did I realize there was a vineyard at said creek. This has my imagination running rampant; does this mean we are gonna see some vineyard murders? Maybe someone is going to be stomping grapes, and then they will fall out of the stomping tub and off the platform … oh wait, deja vu, I’ve already seen that on YouTube. In all seriousness, I do hope we see some killings at this vineyard, and I hope writer Kevin Williamson has come up with some unique death scenes, granted guns and knives (even the faux movie within the movies was called STAB) were the weapons of choice throughout the original trilogy, I’m hoping to see a variety in this sequel.

I’m very anxious to see the new cast and what story-lines Williamson has concocted for them. “Scre4m” will bring us Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Rory Culkin, Nico Tortorella, Lucy Hale, Marielle Jaffe, Adam Brody, Erik Knudsen and Alison Brie. Also added to the roster is Anthony Anderson, who is no stranger to horror or comedy, and the “Scream” franchise has taught us that horror plus comedy equals a treasure trove, your cordial audience now expects it. Last but not least, and one that I am uber excited to see in this film, is Marley Shelton (“Planet Terror,” “Death Proof”), who I think is going to bring something very quirky to the movie. And lest we forget there’s a hush-hush cameo by Kristen Bell. It seems to me that the cast will certainly compliment each other on screen, which is a huge factor in the “Scream” series, as it’s always been an ensemble effort. There was always inside jokes between cast members that made it into the script, i.e. in “Scream 2” Casey Cooper (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is watching “Party Of Five” in her sorority house, and Gale Weathers makes a comment about nude photos of her actually being of her head on Jennifer Aniston’s body.

Judging by the clip, I would have to say that the old cast, Courteney Cox Arquette, David Arquette and Neve Campbell, will definitely need to step up their game to make their revivals believable. Courteney looks fantastic, and I’m hoping she can still bring the feisty cat claws and one liners as Gale, and I secretly hope that Sidney (Neve Campbell) punches her again for old time sake. I can’t wait for some more behind the scenes juice and peeks. Director Wes Craven has done a fantastic job of stringing us all along and keeping our appetites alive via his Twitter, with on-set pics, happenings, and even some contests. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some stellar viral marketing in the near future, maybe Ghostface will get his very own verified Twitter account?
