Poster Peek: ‘The Princess and The Frog’

— by VANNA LAND —

Disney has released a new poster for “The Princess and The Frog.”

The movie — featuring the voices of Terrence Howard, Oprah Winfrey, John Goodman and Anika Noni Rose — is a return to the classic Disney hand-drawn animation style of films such as “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” “Cinderella” and, more recently, “Aladdin.”

As you can see, this particular poster is in Spanish, but the words are easy to decipher and the collage of characters look like they are all part of a fun story that both kids and adults can enjoy. On first look, several of the characters seemed reminiscent of another popular Disney film, “The Little Mermaid.”

The animated film is co-directed by Ron Clements and John Musker, with music provided by Randy Newman. The story is a contemporary re-telling, with a funny but unfortunate twist on the familiar Grimm’s fairy tale, “The Frog-Prince.” It will be fun to see what happens when this Princess kisses her “frog.”

The film will hop into theaters on Dec. 11 (and the trailer can be viewed here).
