Razzie Nominations ‘Honor’ Worst of 2009

— by KATHLEEN COLLINS —

On a day when Hollywood celebrates the best films of the previous year (ostensibly), the Razzies are around to make sure the worst of the year get their due as well.

Most of the nominees are what you would expect (the Razzies aren’t above jumping on the same bandwagons as everyone else, i.e.: if a teenager likes it, it can’t possibly be good), but I would like to single out one actress who was listed.

Obviously, Sandra Bullock is getting the press for her nomination in “All About Steve,” which arrives on the same day she got nominated for an Oscar for her role in “The Blind Side.” But I would like to congratulate the Razzies for singling out the worst performance of the year — if not the decade (and the Razzies did include nominations for the worst of the past 10 years).

In a movie that did so much wrong, it was quite an accomplishment for Julie White to stand out as much as she did in “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.” Her “performance” in the movie is so jaw-droppingly bad that I couldn’t believe what I was watching. To be sure, a fair amount of blame goes to the way the character was written, but still … this was a performance that is worthy of being dis-honored.

Here’s a small taste of a doped-up Judy Witwicky (played by White) via a deleted scene:

Best of luck to you, Judy. I truly hope you win.

Please god, let Megan Fox win every category. Even the the ones shes not nominated for. That beautiful horror is a terrible actress. Excelent clip. Wonderful article Kathleen.

How terrible is it that I have seen more movies on this list than on the Oscar nominees list?

I love how everyone in Transformers is tanned to the point of looking like a carrot…

And I haven’t seen it yet, but from what I heard, “Year One” was a shoo-in.
