There’s an argument that sci-fi movies are really just metaphors for the problems societies face today. If that’s the case for “Repo Men,” then we are in a bad state.
In the society of “Repo Men,” people are given body parts on loan. If you can pay off that loan, that’s great; but if not, then the ruthless repo men are coming to get it back.
“Repo Men” stars Forest Whitaker and Jude Law as repo men and Liev Schreiber as the man behind the company that sells organs. When Jude Law’s character needs a replacement organ after a repo gone awry, he finds himself being hunted by the company.
“Repo Men” promises a lot of action and body parts. Could there be an overall metaphor? Maybe, but I think the film will be enjoyed without anybody looking for one.
Also starring RZA, Alice Braga and Carice van Houten, “Repo Men” will be in theatres March 19.
