In just a couple of weeks, the Man of Steel and the Caped Crusader will face one of DC’s ultimate bad guys, Darkseid, in “Superman/Batman Apocalypse.” In addition, the newest introduction of Kara Zor-El (a.k.a Supergirl) will be part of the movie’s plot. As you already know from earlier reports, the movie is going to be released on Sept. 28 on Blu-Ray and DVD, but it has now been announced that it will have a special premiere in certain theaters in the West Coast starting Sept. 21 and in New York on Sept. 23.
From what I have heard and read about this movie for the past months, I wasn’t expecting it to play in theaters. Living in Sweden, we don’t get a lot of DC movies here, so I wasn’t really surprised when I first heard it was going to play on theaters (but I later found out this is uncommon in U.S for animated superhero movies). So I’m excited for the people who will get the opportunity to witness the movie on the big screen. As a comic book fan, I can understand how exciting this must feel to many of you out there — it’s a huge difference between seeing it on TV and seeing it on a theater screen. I hope all of you who can will get to go to this special event.
Personally, I can’t wait to see this movie. DC Comics and Warner Bros. are really doing great with these animated movies (such as “Superman/Batman Public Enemies,” “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths,” “Batman: Under The Red Hood” and “Batman: Gotham Knight”). Also, my favorite voice actors — Tim Daly, Kevin Conroy and Ed Asner — are doing voice work in the new movie.
To those of you who haven’t seen this amazing trailer, check it out because if you are a true Superman/Batman fan, you will love what is waiting for you in this trailer.
