This has been a phenomenally great week for fans of the “Die Hard” movies. As you may know, “A Good Day to Die Hard” — the fifth installment in the series — is currently filming in Moscow. Die-hard fans (pun intended) have been closely following its progress and we have seen various photos here and there that were snapped by fans from a distance, but recently we were surprised with the first official image from the movie.
With this new photo we got our first good close up of John McClane (Bruce Willis) and his son, John McClanne Jr. (played by Jai Courtney). And then, out of the blue, and to the surprise of many fans and internet sites, Yahoo released the first teaser trailer for the movie.
As a fan of each movie, this collage of action sequences with a recognizable musical score is exactly what I would expect from a “Die Hard” movie teaser. This 1:10 trailer has more action than some full-length movies. It will definitely blow you away. Check it out and let us know what you think.
Personally, I have enjoyed all the Die Hard movies — though the first is still my favorite. I have enjoyed how the each has expanded the scenario McClane finds himself in. The first one found him trapped in a building with terrorist. In the second movie, he faced-off against baddies at an airport, and for the third it was New York City. For the fourth film, they went national, where he pretty much saved the country from returning to the dark ages.
This is why it makes sense that for the next installment they go international, for it would only follow the formula they have been using since the beginning — despite what some “Die Hard” purists believe.
There isn’t much of a movie synopsis at this moment, except “John McClane and his son take on local forces in Russia.” But stick around for all the latest on the new flick.
“A Good Day to Die Hard” hits theaters on Valentine’s Day in 2013 (Feb. 14).
