It constantly baffles and amazes me how much trailers for romantic comedies are giving away these days in the trailers.
I understand a certain amount of the plot will be revealed in the trailer, but why do they have to give away so much? For example, watch the following trailer for “Just Wright.” The whole movie is there. A trailer like this should come with a spoiler warning.
But, that’s the marketing side. As for the movie itself, it looks pretty charming and it’s nice to see Queen Latifah in a role that showcases her considerable charm.
On the whole, the movie looks like something we have seen a million times, but it also doesn’t look forced (like so many romantic comedies of recent vintage).
Also starring Common, Pam Grier, Phylicia Rashad and a whole host of NBA personalities, “Just Wright” is scheduled to arrive in theaters May 14.
