With its $168 million box office take, “Wild Hogs” was a surprise hit in 2007. Its popularity with audiences made talk of a sequel all but inevitable.
And now we have director Walt Becker and actor John Travolta back for “Old Dogs” … which is not quite the sequel to “Wild Hogs.” The actual sequel, “Wild Hogs 2: Bachelor Ride,” will start filming soon for release in 2011. “Old Dogs” merely has a similar feel and title to “Wild Hogs.” (And for the record, I think “Old Dogs” would have been a much better name for the sequel.)
But while audiences wait for the sequel, we have this new film, which pairs Travolta with Robin Williams, Seth Green, Justin Long, Kelly Preston, Rita Wilson, Dax Shepard, Bernie Mac, Matt Dillon and Lori Loughlin.
The plot sounds awfully high concept — two friends and business partners find their lives turned upside down when strange circumstances lead to them being placed in the care of 7-year-old twins. However, when the first trailer for “Old Dogs” played in a movie theater I was in earlier this year, the audience loved it.
This new trailer isn’t all that different from that trailer. It simply extends the scene that proved most popular in the first trailer.
Look for “Old Dogs” to try to perform some new tricks at the box office starting Nov. 25.

the best part was seth green screaming
Wild Hogs was a horrible movie. This one doesn’t look any better.
The trailer does look funny though!
WILD HOGS, in theory, had the potential to be somewhat amusing. However, in execution, it was painfully unfunny, so inept that it inspired cringes at every single flubbed gag. I expect no different with this one.
Normally, I like movies about dogs — but not this kind.
Hilarious!
