The official trailer has been released for the film “Sherlock Holmes,” starring Robert Downey Jr. as the title character, Jude Law as his friend and sidekick, Dr. Watson, and Rachel McAdams as Irene Adler.
Guy Ritchie directed the film and it should be noted that he also has an as-yet-untitled “Sherlock Holmes” sequel already in development. The screenplay was written by Michael Robert Johnson, Anthony Peckham and Simon Kinberg, based on the characters created by Arthur Conan Doyle.
The movie’s plot is listed as follows: Detective Sherlock Holmes and his stalwart partner, Watson, engage in a battle of wits and brawn with a nemesis whose plot is a threat to all of England.
If the trailer is any indication — along with the fact that a sequel is already in the planning stages — the movie looks to be quite good.
Look for the film to be released on Dec 25.

That looks like a great movie. Robert Downey Jr. is on a hot streak. Great picture of him too with the pipe.
I can’t wait to see this movie. Robert Downey Jr. just takes any role and just makes it so much better. This movie will not disappoint.
