“Smokin’ Aces 2: Assasins’ Ball” takes place before Buddy Israel got smoked. This action-packed prequel is an adrenaline-pumping world of blood, bullets and badasses. In this prequel, federal agents will once again face off against a slew of creative and deadly killers.
Walter Weed (Tom Berenger) is a desk jockey at the FBI when the bureau finds out there is a plot to assassinate him. The assassins who fight to win the $3 million dollar bounty include a resourceful beauty that has a unique method of killing her prey (Martha Higareda), a power-tool wielding psychopath (Vinnie Jones) and a deadly master of disguise (Tommy Flanagan).
The trailer shows the sexy, the cunning and the psychotic as they rip through whoever stands in their way. Vinnie Jones has always been one of my favorites and the role he is playing doesn’t look to disappoint anyone. If you’re into wild rides filled with twists, I think this will be one to add to the collection.
P.J. Pesce will direct the film and hopefully will bring this movie the justice it deserves. The first film wasn’t the best but it had potential; hopefully, this will redeem it.
The psychopaths will come straight to DVD on Jan. 5, 2010.

I love me some Vinnie Jones, but I can’t imagine revisiting the world of SMOKIN’ ACES. Also: anyone else remember the glorious days when Tom Berenger’s involvement wasn’t an obvious giveaway that a movie sucked?
