In Disney’s new CGI flick “Tangled,” an often ignored fairytale character, Rapunzel, gets her screen time. Princess Rapunzel, voiced by Mandy Moore, finally gets to “let her hair down” when bandit Flynn Rider (voiced by Zachary Levi of “Chuck”) breaks out of jail and decides to find a nice place to hide — Rapunzel’s tower.
The trailer touts that Flynn is “fearless” and “dangerous,” but it looks like he’s met his match in Rapunzel, who hits him over the head with a frying pan and ties him up in a chair using her hair. She’s been locked up in that tower for her whole life, and she’s ready to let loose!
The trailer doesn’t give us any hints into the mischief Flynn and Rapunzel get into, although I’m sure it’s there. I’m also sure the two will fall in love… it is 1) a fairytale and 2) a Disney movie, after all.
Something I always look for in CGI movies is jokes, and there aren’t too many good ones on display in the trailer, but the animation looks great. Additionally, audiences can look forward to voice overs from David Schwimmer, Jeffrey Tambor, Brad Garrett, Steve Martin and Ewan McGregor, according to IMDB.
Moviegoers can get “tangled” in this Disney fairytale in 3D (of course) on Nov. 24.
