Trailer Talk: ‘The Blind Side’

— by SEAN GERSKI —

During the 2009 National Football League, there was a fair amount of talk about prospect Michael Oher.

The offensive lineman’s story was one that was perfectly-suited for Hollywood — and here, in fact, is that movie.

Written and directed by John Lee Hancock, “The Blind Side” is based on Michael Lewis’ 2006 book “The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game by Michael Lewis.”

The film follows Oher from his impoverished upbringings, through his years at Briarcrest Christian School, his adoption by Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy, and on to his position as one of the most highly coveted prospects in college football.

The film stars Quinton Aaron as Michael Oher, Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw as Leigh Anne and Sean Tuohy, and Kathy Bates as Miss Sue, Oher’s no-nonsense tutor.

During the 2009 NFL Draft, Oher was drafted in the first round by the Baltimore Ravens. The Tuohy family was there for support.

This just doesn’t look like a movie I want to see.

Hmm…I don’t know about Sandy’s accent in this one.

I have no idea how accurate this flick is to the man’s life, but it looks like one big unbearable and messy white liberal Hollywood wet dream. Oscars, ahoy!
