Two New TV spots for ‘Green Lantern’

— by ADAM POYNTER —

After the much-criticized teaser trailer that was released last year for “Green Lantern,” we have not heard or seen much more of the movie until recently. Warner Brothers has been on a quest to redeem the film. Last week, new footage was shown at “WonderCon” and on the heels of that we have two new TV spots.

The biggest change that I have seen is that they have really been fine-tuning the color and the look of Ryan Reynolds’ Green Lantern suit. They also have been working on the creatures and effects in the film. The footage that has been popping up is showing massive improvements in looks and integration of this fantastical world into our own. So watch these two TV promos, the first is titled “Chosen” and the second is called “The Oath.”

Although the two TV spots share some similar scenes, the way they are cut together, edited and orchestrated creates a different feel for each. While “Chosen” chooses to focus on the urgency of this threat to Earth and also feature Blake Lively heavily, “The Oath” starts off with some typical Ryan Reynolds comedy and then transitions into showing the responsibilities of being a part of the Green Lantern Corps.

Even though I have already seen the majority of the footage shown in both of these, I really like how they are choosing to highlight different aspects of the film and how they are bringing a new dimension into how this movie is going to be presented. So what did you think? Does every new trailer and promo get you more excited to see the film, or are you still slightly skeptical about “Green Lantern?” Sound off in the comment section on the right and let us know.

“Green Lantern” stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett and Tim Robbins and hits theaters in 2D and 3D June 17.

I do in fact, get more excited about watching this film, when viewing a new trailer/promo video. I really can’t wait for this one!

I normally don’t get excited for super hero films, but for some reason after seeing the wondercon footage and these tv spots I’m actually looking forward to seeing this movie.
