We learned months ago that Warner Bros. is planning on making more DC movies in the coming years. The scripts we know that are being written are “The Flash,” “Wonder Woman” and also a “Justice League” script, which is being aimed for a 2013 release. They are obviously aiming to do the same thing Marvel Comics does in releasing separate hero movies and bringing all of them together in one movie.
And the latest solo hero to possibly be brought to the screen from DC is Hawkman.
Bleeding Cool has revealed this information about the Hawkman movie:
- Part INDIANA JONES/DA VINCI CODE, part GHOST tentpole about the fictional superhero that appears in D.C. Comic books. He used archaic weaponry and large, artificial wings attached to a harness made of the Nth metal that allows flight. Most incarnations of Hawkman work closely with a partner/romantic interest named Hawkgirl or Hawkwoman in his fight against super-villains. Based on the DC comic.
It’s not that spoiler filled, but it’s basically a good description of the hero. I also like the movies that were mentioned. I really would like to see a movie made of this character, especially if they use the Carter Hall version (who was portrayed by Michael Shanks in “Smallville”). He’s an interesting character and with a JLA movie coming out, I think as many big and important characters from the DC Universe should get their origin movies before they start on a team movie.
So The Flash, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, possibly a new Batman franchise (which hopefully won’t happen — let’s hope they manage to get Christian Bale for the role) after TDKR and also a new Superman movie (which will apparently not be part of the JLA movie, but instead another actor will take on that role) are being developed and produced in upcoming years – it will be a lot, but at least DC Comics fans are finally getting what they have dreamed about for so long now.

Would be sweet. And I recall rumors a yr or so ago for hawkman. But if anyone is next dc guy it probably would be flash. Since development been on and off past few yrs for him.
Now that Michael Shanks has made everyone fall in love with Hawkman, another actor gets to play him on screen.
