It’s not too often that the entirety of the U.S. is rooting against one professional sports team, but that was seemingly the scenario when the Dallas Mavericks took on the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA Finals.
Most basketball fans seemed to be against the Heat and their “Big Three,” leading the underdog Dallas Mavericks to have what had to have been one of the largest cheering sections in the history of professional sports.
Image Entertainment is releasing the official DVD for the Dallas Mavericks, fittingly titled “2011 NBA Champions: Dallas Mavericks,” and with basketball currently in a lockout (for potentially a very long time), the DVD makes a great way for basketball fans (outside of Miami) to get their hoops fix.
The following is the official description from Image Entertainment for the DVD:
- Entering the 2011 season, the Dallas Mavericks franchise and its roster of veterans had never tasted the glory of an NBA championship. Fueled by their intense hunger to win, and bonded by their collective pursuit of success, the Mavericks finally reached the pinnacle of their sport. Led by NBA Finals MVP Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas upset the Miami Heat to complete a stirring drive to the 2011 NBA crown.
After three first-round playoff exits in the previous four years, many underestimated the Mavericks when the season began. But with a quiet determination, Dallas once again emerged as contenders in the West with 57 regular season victories. In this action-packed program, you’ll relive the Mavericks’ march to the title that was filled with dramatic comebacks and memorable performances. With exclusive interviews, exciting highlights, behind-the-scenes footage and riveting bonus features, you’ll have a courtside seat as Dallas’s storybook season comes to life.
“2011 NBA Champions: Dallas Mavericks” is out on DVD this week and thanks to our friends at Image Entertainment, we have three copies to give away.
